Pambili Young Designers (PYD) is a voluntary association founded in July 2009 by a group of Namibian young establishing designers.  The main objective of PYD is to create marketing platforms for NAMIBIAN design products including fashion, jewellery and accessories.  PYD additionally engage in efforts related to product development and the improvement of current product ranges.  Key goals for PYD include high quality standards and product innovation.

Currently PYD is managed by a committed board of directors serving on a voluntary but fulltime basis.  They are striving towards the unity of a Namibian community of practising young professional designers in the fields of fashion and fashion accessory design.  In 2009 the PYD board stated that “we believe that through PYD the Namibian design field can reach high standards that appeal to local and international markets and we can achieve this through collaboration and shared learning experiences”. 

Currently more than 20 individuals and/or groups are registered with PYD as active and general members.   These members include eleven producing designers who deliver fifteen successful product ranges such as exquisite leather handbags, fine jewellery, high end fashion, hand painted T-shirts, beaded accessories and a variety of very interesting fashion jewellery.  PYD would like to expand their portfolio of designers, thus allowing Namibian talent equal opportunities to become part of a dynamic design evolution in Namibia.
